Pancreum Vigil System

PDA, CoreMD and GlucoWedge

Our Continuous Glucose Monitoring System, for easy diabetes management, uses leading-edge technology. The system displays real-time glucose values every 4 minutes, graphs the trend and alerts patients when their glucose levels become too high or too low. Once configured, it will warn them if overnight hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia (Dawn Phenomenon) occurs so they can adequately treat them, for example.

The Pancreum Vigil System records as many as 1080 glucose readings during a three-day period. The sensor measures glucose in the interstitial fluid found between the body's cells, and is then replaced by the patient after three days of use. Glucose measurements are relayed, via wireless Bluetooth communication, every 4 minutes from the CoreMD/GlucoWedge to the PDA, which displays the glucose values on its screen. Alarm levels can be set-up to alert patients to potentially dangerous glucose levels. Trend indicators and graphs can be viewed on the PDA's display or on your PC after the data in an open-platform public-knowledge format is downloaded using commercially available software.

The system is calibrated twice a day (every 12 hours) by entering a glucose measurement from a strip blood glucose meter into the PDA. The Pancreum Vigil System can be used by type 1 and type 2 diabetes patients who desire better glucose control to improve their health and quality of life.
