Our Vision, Your Future

The Social Commitment

Pancreum is committed to the engineering and design of products that can really improve the lives of people with diabetes. Our staff has a genuine concern with the social issues and impacts that such a chronic condition can bring to an individual's life. We are always accessible and can be easily reached. Feel free to contact us if you happen to think of a feature that should be added to one our products and would like to make a suggestion. We are always trying to improve our products!

Knowing that many people with diabetes have vision impairments, in the future we also intend to design a hand-held device that could replace the PDA. This “PDA for the Vision Impaired” will have a user interface that will potentially be button-driven and have a speaker to announce the current menu position, BG levels, basal & bolus values, etc so the user can navigate its menu structure and use the device without the need to read the display.

The Environmental Commitment

Pancreum is also concerned with the current trend, within the diabetes management industry, of making everything disposable: syringes, vials, CPU boards, batteries, etc. This is why we intend to provide our reservoirs pre-filled to some commonly used amounts, up to 400 U, and decrease the amount of syringes and vials that are thrown out. This is also why we designed the CoreMD with a rechargeable battery and a board with 2 CPUs that are NOT disposable, and are conveniently re-used. We believe that this will help the environment and will leave more money in your pocket!

Future Uses for the CoreMD

The Pancreum CoreMD can be a platform for MANY different types of medical devices, not just devices in the diabetes management field. We foresee its use in fields such as Cardiology, Obstetrics and others. The CoreMD may serve as a hub/bus for sensors that monitor heart activity (for an ECG) or that monitor fetus activity. It may also be the platform for other infusion pumps that could deliver different types of drugs, if they can be infused subcutaneously, for several chronic conditions. Contact us if you have any ideas in these areas!
